Data Scientist

Whether your background is in data analysis or a related technical field, you can thrive in this role. As an internet-based company, we’re looking for confidence in basic computer technologies and related experience in the business world. Specifically, we’re looking for the following qualifications:

  • 2+ years of research, entrepreneurship, and relevant industry experience or equivalent education.
  • Demonstrated experience with quantitative analysis software including data visualization tools, scripting languages, and database languages.
  • Demonstrated experience with experimental design, data analysis, and quantitative modeling.
  • Business experience such as business planning, sales and/or project management.

About The Role:

As a Data Scientist, you’ll team up with our Quantitative Strategy crew to help drive smarter decisions and better business results. Depending on your focus, you’ll dive into either Foundations or Products, using data to make a real impact.

Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing:

Foundations

  • Work with different teams to create reports, analyze data, and build models that support Product Development, Quantitative Strategy, and Product team goals.
  • Partner with business units to improve and maintain existing data science products—jumping in to offer advanced analytical support for outside initiatives when needed.

Products

  • Develop data science solutions (like reports, analyses, and models) that help teams make smarter decisions and maximize success. This might also involve jumping in with advanced analytical support for external initiatives
  • Team up with business units to identify key factors that impact performance and goals, then collaborate with other Data Scientists to create data-driven solutions.
  • Support fellow Data Scientists with reports, routine analysis, and other projects—offering feedback and jumping in where needed.

For both— pitching in wherever needed (excluding licensed tasks) to help foster a supportive and collaborative team culture.
