At Veterans United, we offer paid internships that provide students with an opportunity to develop personally and professionally, while working with one of the nation’s best employers. We are currently reviewing applications for future opportunities throughout 2023 and 2024.
As an Intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with other interns and full-time employees. Your work environment will be challenging and supportive as you learn to thrive in a professional atmosphere. The internship has high expectations but is heavily feedback driven with the opportunity to make mistakes and learn from them. Our Interns are a part of the VU Compass Internship Program, whose goal is to guide students in navigating their career goals and growth.
The Intern – Business position is designed for current students and is set up to have interns participate in a cohort style initial training within the Customer Service Center. Here, you are exposed to a variety of trainings, departments, and VU experiences to help you learn more about Veterans United as a whole. Following this training, you have the potential to be placed in one of 35 different departments. These departments have a variety of different positions tailored to many different interests.
The interests may include, but are not limited to:
-
Front End Sales or Customer Service
-
Back End Operations
-
Employee Experience Support
Note: If available, Marketing and Technology have separate internship applications
We provide internships in the Fall, Spring, and Summer. In the Fall and Spring, typically you will work 15-20 hours a week, while in the Summer, typically you will work 30-40 hours a week. Your schedule is flexible and created between you and your manager, as we recognize that you are a student and school does come first. The internship is held semester by semester with the possibility of an extension based on the company’s needs and your performance in the role. We are eager to continue your internship or transition you into a full-time role, given we have an opportunity available, and you are a rockstar employee.
Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include, and are not limited to:
