Our company is headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, with a more recent office popping up in the St. Louis area. This location, specifically in Earth City, Missouri, houses predominately production and technology roles. The Loan Officer role has some flexibility, but is primarily a fully in-office role, as we value the camaraderie and collaboration that comes with working alongside coworkers.

As a Loan Officer at VU, you enhance the lives of our borrowers by holding your standard for customer service to the highest caliber. You work diligently as your day is full of pivoting and problem solving. Your salesmanship is tested as you work towards delivering results. While demanding, the job presents an incredibly rewarding experience for both our borrowers and the Loan Officer.

Our Loan Officer role offers a truly unique experience that few careers could match. This role has a comparable base pay plus commission wage structure. The schedule typically requires non-traditional hours and overtime, but also offers flexibility, as you create your schedule in a way that will allow you to be efficient and successful. Our marketing team works hard to bring in fresh leads by the truckload, so our Loan Officers rarely do any cold calling.

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Calling leads, collecting borrower financial and credit information.

  • Processing borrower credit information through online approval system.

  • Educating borrowers on loan process and assisting them in identifying appropriate loan.

  • Structuring loans for borrowers, including rates and fees for loans.

  • Securing proper documentation and managing loan process through closing of loan.
