As a Mortgage Loan Officer, you will be focused on generating mortgage leads through your interactions with the local military community and building relationships with local Realtors.  

Job duties will include:

  • Connecting with Realtors to offer them our VA home loan services.

  • Connecting with the local military community to provide VA home loan education.

  • Issuing pre-approval notices and following-up with them.

  • Assisting Realtors and Borrowers with making offers on properties.

  • Securing proper documentation and structuring loans for borrowers, including rates and fees for loans.

  • Managing your Loan Officer role in the loan process in partnership with your Transaction Coordinator.

  • You will originate home loans across Texas, with emphasis on VA loans in your preferred target area.

  • You will be supported by a Branch Manager, Senior Loan Officer and a Transaction Coordinator/Processor.

Minimum requirements for this position include:

  • Minimum 2 years of VA mortgage experience

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal)

  • Aptitude to learn new technologies (Experience with Encompass a plus)

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and work under time constraints

  • Availability to work full-time (typically 9am-5pm and as needed by referral sources)

  • Must be individually NMLS-licensed prior to start date

  • 100% commissioned position; base pay will be a draw on commissions after trial period
