Product Policy Advisor

As a Product Policy Advisor, you will be responsible for ensuring consistency and accuracy in interpreting guidelines. You will work with the loan team, Consultants and Underwriters to answer questions, review scenarios, find solutions, and provide a path forward on denied, suspended, and troubled files. Your primary focus will be recommending the best business solution for each individual loan reviewed and communicating those solutions to the appropriate stakeholder(s) to be implemented.

Job duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the help desk by answering guideline questions for all loan teams and Consultants, which will include assisting Loan Officers with finding solutions to obtain approval on denied and suspended files.

  • Processes guideline exception requests in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Work closely with training and coaching staff to identify knowledge gaps on the Production and Operations floor and assist with building resources to fill those gaps.

  • Serve as a liaison between Production, Underwriting, and Capital Markets to ensure consistency. Ensure guidelines are interpreted accurately from both investor and agency standpoints.

  • Review complicated income and employment scenarios to ensure approval.

  • Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.

  • 2 + years of mortgage Production or Operations experience, preferably as a Loan Officer or Underwriter

  • Knowledge of loan products and guidelines

  • Experience with FHA and Conventional loan products

  • Proficient in basic computer technologies, appropriate for an internet-based company

  • Regular and predictable attendance
