Quality Assurance Engineer

Quality Assurance Engineer, Mortgage Research Center, LLC dba Veterans United Home Loans, Earth City, MO

Duties: Deliver high quality software products through testing, inquiring, experimenting, collaborating, automating, and continuously improving testing and software delivery methods to support specific business objectives. Partner with product delivery team to create test plans, and conduct manual exploratory, functional, and regression tests for new and legacy systems (50%).  Specific duties include: requirement gathering and analysis: supporting project and release planning sessions, brainstorming solutions, clarifying business and technical requirements, design discussions, consulting in architecture flow analysis, and feature-to-user story flow discussions and create Test Plan/Test Strategy, Estimation, Test Scenario/Test Case preparation, Execution and Control and Defect Management. Engage in project testing requirements and other quality assurance considerations (25%). Specific duties include: Understand the existing Automation Framework implemented with POM Model and expand the scope of framework by enhancing the scope to different channels in the application to achieve automation goal. Partner with product delivery team to create, execute and maintain automated test scripts to meet software release deliverables, project testing requirements and other quality assurance consideration (15%). Specific duties include: Validate the failure of transaction using Splunk or similar tool, perform root cause analysis of the issue and provide maximum details to the development team, and perform testing on all edge cases testing, Boundary case validation to ensure that software is delivered and designed as per requirement. Lead evaluation and implementation of new QA-related tools and processes (5%). Specific duties include: Implement new tool per framework maturity and code compatibility, streamline QA process by identifying existing gaps and new process implementation per business request, and ensure that new QA practices are implemented at organizational level and are ISO QA Standards.  Perform other duties as assigned, excluding licensed activity (5%). Specific duties include: Daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly team meetings and discussion with product team to provide updates on status for the project/enhancement/bug fixes. 

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications, or related discipline, plus at least three years of QA experience and at least three years of active development experience. Must have experience with developing and automating QA tests using scripting and coding languages including JavaScript, C#, SQL, J2EE, Java, ASP, VBScript, Shell Scripting, REST, SOAP, and .net. Must have experience in test automation using Java, Selenium, Rest Assured, and Karate Frameworks or like comparisons. Must have experience with writing and executing automated test code in Java using Unit, BDD, and opensource packages and technologies. Must have experience with writing scripts including Selenium scripts, Appium, Cucumber, TestNG, and experience with other automation frameworks with integration with TFS and Sauce Lab. Must have experience in testing web services via SOAP and REST, using the open source testing tool SOAPUI and POSTMAN. Experience is required in Agile Testing models. Experience must include performance testing using tools including Apache JMeter, Fiddler, and Splunk, and security testing tools including Checkmarx. Must have experience with WebEx and software development team work tracking tools including JIRA. Must have experience with statistical tools. Experience with validating, troubleshooting, identifying and reporting issues related to solution architecture using tools including SQL Developer, PuTTY, WinSCP, IBM Rally, TestNG, Junit, HP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), RallyDev, Technology Delivery Platform (TDP), Eclipse, Apache Maven, Apache Ant, Log 4j, and Sonar. Must have experience with databases including MS-SQL and MySQL. Must have experience with testing types including manual testing, automation testing, regression and negative testing, progression, UI & compatibility testing, data interface and migration testing, performance/load/stress testing, integrated system testing, and black and white box testing.
