Software Engineer - Quantitative Strategy

As a Software Engineer in Quantitative Strategy, you will leverage both hard and soft skills to turn experiments into quality software products. You will work closely with data scientists to deliver products, manage the project life cycle, and take creative ownership of the software design. We’re looking for someone who enjoys challenging work in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take ownership of both the technical and social aspects of software delivery.


Job duties:

  • Build testable software products that are scalable, maintainable, and documented appropriately.

  • Set projects up for success by gathering requirements, building trustful relationships with stakeholders, and designing architecture that results in the desired outcome.

  • Manage your workflow by setting proper expectations, meeting commitments, and creating clarity on progress.

  • Collaborate with team members to refine processes and build reusable tools.

  • Adapt systems and processes to support tooling and workflows developed by Quantitative Strategy.

  • Identify and incorporate technological change happening in the software engineering industry as well as areas of the business inside of Veterans United.

Must-Have Skills/Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional experience with programming and software design 

  • Demonstrated ability in building full-stack software solutions in Python, C#, or similar programming language

  • Self-managing, organized, and able to work independently

  • Comfortable owning projects from concept to production; including requirements gathering, task management, implementation, and delivery

  • Continuously seeks opportunities for growth and development

  • Has developed software in an Agile, highly iterative environment

  • Experience in creating automated tests

  • Proficient with Git and Git workflows
