Stability Engineer

If you love using your technical and interpersonal skills to help teams solve their toughest performance and availability problems, this is the role for you!

You will have great influence on defining, prioritizing, and designing implementations that will level up our organization's ability to enhance the lives of our borrowers. A day in the life of a Stability Engineer is fast-paced as well as demanding, and allows you to work with a broad array of our Technology and Product Development teams. This role will require the candidate to exercise creativity and be experimental in how they achieve success.

Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include:

  • Control technical troubleshooting and diagnostic efforts

  • Work in conjunction with Product Owners to identify, communicate, and prioritize opportunities to increase stability

  • Recommend architectural patterns, measures, standards and development practices for the increase of stability based on business needs

  • Direct the addition of meaningful metadata to the application portfolio.

  • Advocate for the practices that guarantee quality/uptime

  • Provide transparency to leadership regarding effectiveness of our stability efforts

  • Know and understand the probability of risk associated with production changes

We’ll also want to know that you can demonstrate these attributes:

  • 7+ years of experience in distributed system development, design, and support

  • 3+ years experience developing and supporting mission-critical systems

  • Comfortable speaking with senior leadership and individual contributors alike

  • Excellent in explaining technical concepts in both technical and common terms

  • Experience as a technical leader in an agile shop

  • Experience working with modern monitoring and alerting platforms

  • Proficient understanding of server resource management and networking fundamentals
