As a Systems Administrator – Exchange Online, you will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing operational aspects of the Office 365 Exchange Online E-mail environment. 

Systems Administrators are responsible for the construction, maintenance and oversight of a specific knowledge area(s) within the Engineering Team. As a Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing operational aspects of the Veterans United Office 365 Exchange Online E-mail environment.

Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include:

  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering team to ensure the highest reliability and performance possible within the Office 365 Exchange Online E-mail environment

  • Administer and troubleshoot all Office 365 Exchange Online components and related technologies

  • Basic understanding of AD Connect, Azure AD, and synchronization of local AD accounts to Azure AD

  • Communicate with and escalate trouble tickets to product vendors

  • Monitor system performance to ensure dependable and uninterrupted operation of e-mail communications

  • Assist other teams within IT through cross-training or administrative tools

  • Participate and contribute to agile methodology workflow

  • Maintain detailed documentation about specific systems and store in a centralized repository.

  • Be a self-starter who works independently and is able to manage multiple projects

  • Follow change management practices

  • Contribute to and maintain system standards

  • Perform other duties as assigned, excluding licensed activity

We’ll also want to know you can demonstrate these attributes:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Exchange Server and Office 365 Exchange Online E-mail

  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and 2019

  • Experience scripting with PowerShell

  • Experience in mailbox management

  • Experience with 1000+ mailbox environment preferred

  • Experience with AD Connect, Azure AD, and synchronization of local AD accounts to Azure AD

  • Experience with Email archiving/retention solutions

  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory and understanding how AD relates to a O365 tenant

  • Experience managing user accounts and user licenses through the Office 365 admin center in the Microsoft cloud platform or Windows PowerShell cmdlets.

  • Ability and passion to keep up with emerging E-mail and Office 365 technologies

  • Ability to understand business needs and communicate complex concepts in a simple, business value context

  • Remain both positive and assist in positive thinking

  • Creative, flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment

  • Passionate about furthering education through training and hands-on experience

  • Demonstrate the understanding and illustrate practice of soft skills

  • Must be organized and have a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
