As a Systems Administrator - Unified Communications, you will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing operational aspects of the Veterans United new voice system.

Systems Administrators are responsible for the construction, maintenance and oversight of a specific knowledge area(s) within the Engineering Team. As a Unified Communications Administrator, you will be responsible for assisting with the ongoing operational aspects of the Veterans United Communications Platform.

Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include:

  • Collaborate with Systems Engineering team to ensure the highest reliability and performance possible within the voice environment

  • Administer and troubleshoot all Cisco UC components and related technologies

  • Basic understanding of call flows and call reporting

  • Coordination with carriers in the repair and restoration of voice circuits

  • Communicate with and escalate trouble tickets to product vendors

  • Monitor system performance to ensure dependable and uninterrupted operation of voice communications

  • Assist other teams within IT through cross-training or administrative tools

  • Participate and contribute to agile methodology workflow

  • Maintain detailed documentation about specific systems and store in a centralized repository.

  • Be a self-starter who works independently and is able to manage multiple projects

  • Follow change management practices

  • Contribute to and maintain system standards

We’ll also want to know you can demonstrate these attributes:

  • Basic knowledge of Cisco VOIP and Cisco Unified Communication configuration and troubleshooting

  • Experience with multi-site, IP Telephony and unified communications rollouts and migrations

  • Exceptional problem solving skills

  • Experience troubleshooting SIP Trunks, PRI, and POTS

  • Basic understanding of AD, QoS, TCP/IP, routers, and switches

  • Ability to understand business needs and communicate complex concepts in a simple, business value context

  • Ability and passion to keep up with emerging unified communication technologies

  • Remain both positive and assist in positive thinking

  • Creative, flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced work environment

  • Passionate about furthering education through training and hands-on experience

  • Demonstrate the understanding and illustrate practice of soft skills

  • Must be organized and have a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
