Systems Engineer - Cloud Native Platform

As a Systems Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain our highly-available infrastructure.  This role will play a key part in developing our platform-as-a-service offering as well as directly interface with software development staff, product owners and participate in an agile team of cross-functional engineers.

Job duties will vary upon assignment but may include:

  • Work with product owners, team-mates and software developers to build service offerings supporting our highly-available infrastructure

  • Participate in an agile team, including various ceremonies and daily work commitment

  • Escalate road-blocks and barriers to product owner or team-lead and utilize tight feedback-loops to keep in step with team

  • Ensure you continuously grow in your business knowledge, technical knowledge and incorporate evolving customer experience trends into your tools/services/products.

We’ll also want to know you can demonstrate these attributes:

  • Experience in components of cloud native application stacks (service mesh, container registry, observability, deployment pipeline, etc)

  • Fluency in either Scripting (Bash, Powershell, Python) or Programming (Python, Angular, C#, Java, Golang)

  • Experience with authentication schemes

  • Experience with source control (Git, TFVC, SVN)

  • Experience with continuous integration / continuous delivery

  • Passion for automation, config management and infrastructure as code (ansible, terraform, etc)

  • Experience with Containerized workload orchestration (kubernetes, swarm)

  • Aptitude to learn new technology.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision making skills.

  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize, maintain attention to detail and recognize time constraints.

  • Excellent communication skills and a strong desire to work in a collaborative environment

  • Experience working on a small team to implement new features or products in partnership with product owner and development resources.

  • Ability to vet potential projects for value, identify project barriers/obstacles.

  • Build highly collaborative, high trusting relationships.

  • Demonstrated work ethic and highly self-motivated.

  • High capacity for critical thinking.
